I’m the guy who wrote and produced theNewhart video, “The Challenge.” I’m really interested to know how much you enjoyed it, teeth aside. Bob and everyone else donated their time—and in his case talent—to make the video to help raise money for people who were non-writers who were hurt by the writers’ strike. I thought and still think that was an increcibly generous thing for him to do.
In addition to having written for Bob on the old Bob Newhart Show, I’ve remained a huge fan of his. I hope you are, too. And yes, the girl in the video is Bob’s real granddaughter.

Loved it. Love everything Bob does. This is not in anyway “snark” or “hipster irony.”
I liked the pacing… and I like his attitude in it. The predominant tone of characters of internet comedy videos is either hostile or lazy, which I am against. To approach the comedy as (his usual) cheerful underdog persona is great to see.
I got the link from my old boss from Modern Humorist who ran the Hollywood United blog during the strike.
