Of interest to the Mad Men fans who read this blog who are probably not graphic designers themselves and may have missed it—This is a slideshow from the 1962 Art Directors and Designers Association of New Orleans (later to become a branch of the AIGA).

I was going to write an appreciation of Japanese candy “Meiji Apollo,” but I don’t feel like it because my hair’s too long.

I modified the front page of my site slightly.

It’s not complete (missing episodes 2 & 3, we’re looking for them), but I’ve uploaded all of the Cakey! episodes on a variety of sites, but Vimeo looks best.

These were made between Dec 2006 and March 2008, and due to a exclusive contract, was only on a site that doesn’t exist anymore. So, until there’s a protest, they’re here for you. Please share them.

If you had thought about buying any of my Mad Men prints and didn’t get around to it, put a fire under your ass. I can’t say for sure, but I’m pretty positive that stuff’s all coming down in the very near future.

Zazzle took down my calendar for “using copyrighted images,” which is technically false. I could argue against it pretty easily, but who buys a 2009 calendar in 2009? So, I let it be.

Don’t cry for me, I’ve got a big fish in the fryer right now. Zazzle’s usefulness has run its course. I might have some exciting news in the next couple weeks.

I’m posting these more as a service to friends rather than an actual entry—this season has been pretty elusive to track down (and frequently taken down). I don’t think this is an overly-good episode, but it’s nice seeing some panelists who haven’t been on the show for a couple seasons.

It’s a tambourine. Best case scenario, a charismatic revivalist had too much joy-joy down in her heart and let it fly to the heart of Jesus. Worst case scenario, bullies targeting our nation’s Hare Krishna community.

I just bought this camera (second-hand):

Usually people who buy cameras do it because want to document their fascinating travels or paparazzi their own hideous children (or tedious cats).

I’m a shut in with no dependents or animals; I’m not sure what I’m going to be using this for.
