Welcome to my Study 8
March 7th, 2009Since the number of people who read my blog (on the weekend, no less) is much smaller than, say, those who check YouTube, FunnyorDie or Facebook, I’m considering this a “soft opening.”

“Get on the cumin train, buddy.”
Hehe. Mitch slays me with this character. I can’t even explain why, but I just can’t keep from cracking up.

I love how Mitch stumbles over the word “drawers” in every episode. Is that because Mitchell grew up in Brooklyn, and had to overcome his tendency to pronounce “drawer” the same as “draw”? Or is that true of Mitch? Or some other explanation? Or am I observing something that simply isn’t so?

This sketch plays like a comedy jazz band and in a good way. I love to see just how many ways you two play this or how far you can go with it.

in response to Llama, I did grow up saying “draws” (but not in Brooklyn) so maybe I draw it out, out of a fear of mispronouncing it. But also, I just think it funny to lay into the word drawers.
I stopped saying “draws” when I got to college and systematically purged all regionalisms from my vocabulary.
